MOSE (MOnitoring and Saving Energy) (2010 – on-going) is a project co-funded by the local government. It is leaded by MIC and involves: Public Administration, Noverca (Italian Telco Operator), Microsoft Italia and important energy managers. The main focus of MOSE is the realization of a system for the optimization of energy consumption of public illumination through an intelligent management of the switching ON/OFF. Moreover the project includes the realization of procedures for the energy consumption analysis. It represents a POC that includes the realization of low cost embedded systems for the energy management and a back office application employing Microsoft Azure cloud solution for the remote management of the devices and the data storage.

ATLAS (Automatic Translation into Sign Language) (2009- on-going) the project is supported by the Piemonte Region and financed by the program of development of innovative services. The project creates the technological bridge between the cognitive sciences and the most advanced information technologies. It gives the possibility to deaf people to look and understand programs of mass media through automatic translation from the Italian written language into the sign language (LIS) which is visualized a virtual actor created by computer animation drawing means. H₂politO (2001- on-going) is a team made up of engineering students of the Politecnico of Torin, with backgrounds and profiles very diverse. Team members are studying different disciplines ranging from Automotive, Mechanics, Electronics, Aerospace to Energetics, Telematics, Mathematical, Industrial and Management Engineering. Team’ s mission is to shape a new breed of engineers, leaders in their fields and representing a truly innovative educational track. The outcome of passion and hard work is a low-energy consumption vehicle - IDRA - able to become a benchmark in its category. MIC is supporting the team trough specific training on Microsoft technologies as well as direct support on embedded solutions for automotive applications. In particular this project relies on Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3. This is a first step towards the new generation of embedded systems on new Windows Embedded Compact 7. GOLDEN-ICE (improvinG the efficiency Of saLt-spreaDing (de-icing) sErvices and emergeNcy call management on wInter professional vehiCles using Egnos) (2010 - on-going) is a project funded by the EC under the 7th framework program. It is leaded by an Italian SME (SAET srl) and involves important companies in the field of winter maintenance and insurance. The main GOLDEN-ICE focus is to apply the EGNOS/EDAS innovations in the field of winter services and equipments with the goal to introduce advanced concepts in salt spreading control and road safety. The optimization of the spreading according to the road morphology and a precise and certified position, results in a reduction of the overall material cost and environmental impact. Moreover GOLDEN-ICE will introduce the eCall concept for professional applications increasing the safety for citizens.
Microsoft Embedded technologies combined with the advanced use of GPS/EGNOS systems, allow an improved efficiency and an enhanced user experience in the field of winter maintenance. In particular this project relies on Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 with an application based on native C++ code and a GUI in Silverlight for Windows Embedded. This is a first step towards the new generation of embedded systems for winter equipments based on the new Windows Embedded Compact 7 and innovative Intelligent Device Management paradigm. EcoSAT10 (2010 – on-going) is a consultancy project for SAET srl and GILETTA spa focusing on innovation of processes and products based on innovative Microsoft technologies. In particular the main focus of the project is the realization of an innovative hardware/software architecture for machine control (snowplow and spreaders).
